Perennial. Tall rangy flower stems, with dandelion like flowers, branch up from a basal rosette of attractive bristly leaves, up to 20″ tall. Attractive spiky seed heads.

Flowers attractive to many insects, it has good timing as it’s autumn flowering, the seeds are beneficial to small birds feeding them up for winter.

Open meadows, hedgerows.

Sowing guidelines:
Sow late autumn or early spring into a seed tray, prick out when large enough to handle and plant out when big enough.
